Our 11 days Bush and Beach Experience allows you to combine some of the remotest places in Africa and enjoy the wilderness of the Luangwa Valley in Zambia and the peaceful remoteness of Lake Malawi.
After your arrival in Lilongwe, or Lusaka you take a short flight to the magnificent Luangwa Valley in Zambia. The first days are spent at Kafunta River Lodge, which offers the opportunity to discover the game rich Mfuwe area. Game activities at Kafunta River Lodge include game viewing in open vehicles and unique night drives offer the opportunity to view nocturnal animals. The central location of Kafunta River Lodge allows us to explore vast areas of South Luangwa National Park.
A three hour safari drive from Kafunta River Lodge through the South Luangwa National Park takes you to Island Bush Camp in the very South of the Park.
Island Bush Camp is built from natural, locally sourced materials, and the chalets are set along the banks of the Luangwa River. The camp offers rustic accommodation in grass/reed huts build on stilts that ensure safety from wild animals and provide an unlimited view of the Luangwa River. The camp offers rustic comfort and each chalet has it’s own en-suite bathroom, with running water, flushing toilets and hot bucket showers. The camp is the base for the daily walking safaris.
After your adventure at Island Bush Camp you depart Zambia and fly via Lilongwe to Likoma Island in the northern Part of Lake Malawi. The next two nights are spend at Kaya Mawa, the comfortable Lodge is located on the Lake shore and offers the option to explore the Island and it’s interesting history.
After the relaxing break you venture further into remote Africa. The short boat trip will take you to the Mozambique, you will clear custom and immigration before you continue on to Nkwichi Lodge on the eastern shore of Lake Malawi. You hardly notice the lodge as you arrive on the sandy beach. It has been carefully built to blend in with the surrounding scenery. The Lodge is located in the Manda Wilderness area and you have lost of time to explore the area and the community projects. Nkwichi Lodge has won numerous eco awards.
At the end of your visit your return to Likoma Island to fly to Lilongwe were your Safari ends.
