Our Bush Experience safari package offers a unique opportunity to combine the comfort and luxury of Kafunta River Lodge with the rustic beauty of the Island Bush Camp, a real bush experience. Both are situated in the Luangwa Valley one of the prime spots for supperb game viewing in Southern Africa. The first days are spent at Kafunta River Lodge, which offers the opportunity to discover the game rich Mfuwe area and relax in a classic safari lodge overlooking a floodplain and the South Luangwa National Park. The lodge has a private park entry that leads to a beautiful corner of the park not used by many safari operators. Game activities at Kafunta River Lodge include game viewing in open vehicles and unique night drives offer the opportunity to view nocturnal animals.

The central location of Kafunta River Lodge allows us to explore vast areas of South Luangwa National Park.
A three hour drive from Kafunta River Lodge through remote wilderness takes you to Island Bush Camp in the far South of the national park. Island Bush Camp is built from natural, locally sourced materials, and the chalets are set along the banks of the Luangwa River. The camp offers rustic accommodation in grass and reed huts built on stilts that ensure safety from wild animals and provide an unlimited view of the Luangwa River.

The camp offers rustic comfort and each chalet has its own en-suite bathroom, with running water, flushing toilets and hot bucket showers. The camp is the base for the daily walking safaris.

Returning to Kafunta River Lodge, you spend the last part of your safari enjoying the comforts of the lodge where you are able to participate in more game drives.
